RecHub began as a volunteer project in 2008 for the University of Wisconsin’s Hoofers Sailing Club. As a sailing instructor, lesson scheduling coordinator and the education chair for the club, Justin – our CEO and Founder- saw first-hand the struggles of running a club like Hoofers. There just wasn’t anything on the market that could handle all of their needs! A student at the time, he began programming the first drafts of what would later become the Pinfire Club Manager (PCM).

Fast-forward to 2012 and Pinfire Labs became an official company offering PCM to other sailing clubs and schools. As we began to grow, we realized that our platform could easily be used by other types of recreation organizations. So in 2018, we started researching.

There were already a few other booking and management softwares available, but most organizations were still using 3, 4 sometimes even 5 different programs to help manage their business. None of the competition had an entirely complete and integrated platform like ours - not to mention all that paper still floating around!

Today in 2020, PCM, now known as RecHub, is available to the entire outdoor recreation space. Hoofer’s – AKA Outdoor UW – still uses the latest version of RecHub not only for its sailing club, but also for the mountaineering, outing, ski and snowboard, horseback riding and scuba clubs, as well!

We’re proud of where these last 12 years have taken us. As adventure lovers ourselves, we’re excited to help other nature dwellers stop wasting time and get back to doing the things they love!
